Associate Professor of Language (Spanish).

What courses are you teaching this semester?
SPN 110 (two sections) and SPN210 Intermediate Spanish.

Where did you receive your degree(s) and what are they in?
I hold a BA (1979) from Emory University and the PhD in Spanish from Emory University in Atlanta GA.

How long have you been at ODU?
I began in July 1999.

What is your favorite thing about ODU?
Teaching and becoming involved in a smaller liberal arts university have allowed me to get to know colleagues, students and staff more deeply. Previously I had been a faculty member at two large state institutions. Although size and breadth have advantages, the opportunity to make a difference and to develop professionally at a university the size of ODU, with its clear mission and values, has brought me many rewards.

What is your favorite thing about ODU?
Ohio Dominican truly has a great student body. Everyday I have the pleasure of being greeted by students; who with great enthusiasm are looking for new experiences and accepting the challenges that are presented to them. ODU students have welcomed me with open arms and made me feel a part of the ODU family. I truly enjoy my job, because of the students that I work with everyday.
