Computer Information Systems

Degree offered: Bachelor of Science

Global competition, instant information, innovation and change are characteristics of the world in which we live and work today. Virtually every industry – from healthcare to manufacturing; from education to law enforcement – has integrated computer information systems to create, store, process, manage and provide data to assist in designing solutions to complex business problems. Every aspect of the backbone of our economy – from banking to retail – depends on reliable, secure information systems.

Specialization is the watchword for today’s high-tech world. Ohio Dominican University’s Computer Information Systems program affords students the opportunity to choose an area of concentration that reflects their intellectual and vocational interests. Ohio Dominican offers five areas of concentration that prepare graduates with a solid foundation in computer programming concepts, networks, database systems and analysis of information technology.

The Programming concentration provides a comprehensive computer science curriculum from a software-based approach. Download and Print the CIS - Programming Information Sheet & Sample 4 Year Course Plan

The Management concentration imparts fundamental theory of business administration and finance, along with associated technology and systems analysis skills, resulting in a synergistic management information systems curriculum of business practices and computational skills.
