Majors at Ohio Dominican
Accounting
In addition to preparing students for specific careers in private and public accounting, the mission of the Accounting major is to help students learn, think, analyze, and ethically convey the financial reality of a business enterprise. To that end, Ohio Dominican offers signature courses in all facets of accounting, as well as a firm foundation in ethical precepts.
Ohio Dominican’s Accounting major prepares students for entry-level accounting positions or graduate studies. The major fulfills the minimum requirements for the CMA/CFM exams. All Accounting courses are designed to enhance students’ knowledge, skills and abilities as identified by the University competencies in the areas of critical thinking, communication, collaboration, reflection, and information technology.
The marketability of ODU graduates is enhanced though participation in coursework that prepares students for professional, national-level examinations such as NASD Series 6 and 7 exams in Finance and Accounting.
Note: A student wishing to apply for the Uniform CPA exam will need to meet the 150-hour professional program requirement of the examination board. Students must consult with their academic advisor if they are interested in completing the 150-hour professional program.
